Trauma Specialist & Clinical Consultant
About Maren Masino
Maren Masino sees what most people miss: the part of a woman that numbs, rages or disappears is usually the part that kept her alive. Her work is helping those parts learn they can finally stand down.
Maren has spent more than 15 years in trauma work, including directing therapy clinics in Los Angeles and the United Kingdom, and she teaches internationally on trauma, dissociation and body-based therapy. Her training includes Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. She learned under Dr. Janina Fisher and Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, the clinicians whose work anchors Women's Recovery's philosophy.
At Women's Recovery, Maren guides how our clinicians understand trauma, dissociation and the body, so the whole program works from one shared belief: symptoms are solutions, and healing begins in the nervous system. Her work weaves together the body, the parts and the relationship. She holds a deep conviction that tenderness isn't the soft part of therapy. It's the engine of it.
Her own history informs her work, and it shows in how gently she holds the hardest material. Maren's hope for this field is simple: fewer experts in the room, and more real people helping each other heal.
