Drug & Alcohol Rehab Programs Near Grand Junction
Rehabilitation is an integral stage of the recovery process. In order to transition from an addicted life to a sober one, recovering addicts need to learn how to live without drugs. This involves figuring out how to fight cravings and how to manage stress without relapsing. Oftentimes, it’s difficult to do so.
That’s why drug and alcohol rehab programs exist. These facilities offer therapy and counseling services that teach addicts how to live as a sober person. In rehab, addicts learn about why addiction develops, how it affects the brain, and how they are overcome. For many people, these programs make the addiction-to-sobriety transition a bit easier.
Addiction rehab programs come in many forms. There are several different types of rehab in the Grand Junction area. Here are the two most popular ones:
Inpatient Programs
These are residential treatment programs. In other words, patients live on-campus at the treatment facility while they recover after detox. Typically these programs last 4-6 weeks, although some people stay longer. This option works best for addicts who can’t avoid relapsing if they live outside the facility.
During their stay, patients undergo intensive therapy and counseling. They meet one-on-one with addiction specialists. They gather with other recovering addicts for group support sessions. In their downtime, they exercise, read, and hang out with other patients.
Intensive Outpatient Programs
IOPs are non-residential. Patients don’t live in the facility itself. Instead, they live off-site and commute every day. This allows them to attend work, school, and spend time with family. It works best for students, single mothers, and people who can’t take time off work.
Outpatient rehab offers all of the same benefits as inpatient rehab. But, it’s much more flexible. If you can abstain from drinking or using drugs while off-campus, this could be the best rehab option for you.
